Rainbow Bridge - PERKY

"Perky"

Perky was  a Channel Cat Fish. He was  about 12 inches long and quite wide. He was 28 years of age when he crossed over The Rainbow Bridge a few days ago on 14th December. What a character he was! He would swim up to the glass and put his lips against it when Mum did it, just as if he was kissing her! 

He will be sorely missed.

Catching Up

I have so much catching up to do! I can't believe it's been so long since we posted here on my blog! Hope you guys are all well?

Well, to start with - I am in the best of health and enjoying life to the fullest. We have been so busy lately, holidaying with the caravan and Mum has been doing her pastel pet portraits too. She is nearly booked up for Christmas so if you still want a portrait, hop over quick to Mums' blog - Genista Pawtraits - she only has a few spaces left.

Well we have had Halloween' and Bonfire Night already and we are fast heading towards Christmas. I love Christmas! Can't wait for my treats and presents. I have already sniffed a few out in Mums' wardrobe, she doesn't know mind you.

Every year I get "Crazy Critters" Stuffing-Free Dog Toys - a FOX and a RACCOON

It usually takes me a few months to rip them to shreds bol. They do have squeakers, so Mum has to watch out for them or I'll swallow them, but she usually cuts them out when I'm getting close to them. (They are in the wardrobe ssshhhh!!!).

It's raining outside, as usual this time of the year. I don't mind the rain - I love it in fact BUT Mum doesn't like me getting wet when its cold so I might have to wait till later for my walk. I'll have the hairdryer on me when I get back - I love that, it's lovely and warm and warms my bones when I get back in from the cold. The house is lovely and warm anyway but Mum doesn't take any chances with my hip dysplasia.

 We have had a muiltifuel burner put in the lounge now - it's lovely! Soooo warm and cosy. Some photos of me toasting myself in front of it coming soon. I always bag the spot right in front! I'm not daft...

Well I'm off for a feed and a toast in front of the fire. Catch ya all later!

I'm Back .....

Hi there! Sorry I haven't been around for a while but Mum has been really busy and we have been away with the caravan enjoying the LOVELY weather bol! We went to stay at our caravan here in Wales and it rained for most of the time. I don't mind the rain, being a Lab, I just love getting wet but Mum wasn't so keen bol.

We're off to our caravan again soon so lets hope the weather starts to perk up a bit. All it seems to do is rain here.

I am really well at the moment and enjoying life to the full. I will be around shortly to visit everyone. That's me in the photo (of course), looking for a treat (as usual). Glad to be back!

PASTEL PORTRAITS

My Mum has been busy painting/drawing again lately, the bears have gone on hold for the time being. I thought you might like to have a look at a couple of pastel portraits that she has done this last week or so. She is doing four for a lady, 2 West Highland Terriers - "Alfie" and "Lilly" and two cats  - "Thomas" a white/tabby shorthair male and "Smudge" a black/white longhair male. She has completed two so far "Alfie" and "Thomas" which you can see below. They have now been matted and framed.

"2" Today

It is my "2nd" Birthday Today!! Can't believe I am TWO already!! I was born on the 9th March 2010

 Chilling Out in Dads' chair whilst he was in work...

Hi there! Sorry I haven't been around for a while - hip problems as usual. I had to go back to see my specialist as I was having some pain again. Seems like I may have pulled a muscle but they did more x-rays whilst I had a nap and came to the conclusion that my hips need sorting  sooner rather than later now. The only problem is - my hip socket hasn't developed enough to take the new hip so they have taken all my measurements and sent them off to the USA where my new hip is being made and they are going to try to make one that will fit. They are not 100% sure that it will work and if it doesn't they will cut the ball of my hip off so basically I will not have hips. I will then have to keep my muscles built up to support me. To be honest I don't much like the sound of it but we are at a loss to know what else to do if my new hip does not work. Thats my right hip - my left hip has even less chance apparently as that is even less developed.

I have an appointment for it to be done on 27th February but this hasn't been confirmed by the vet  yet so Mum is going to try and postpone it untill 19th March when Dad has leave from work to make it easier.

Second Knee Operation

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. My knee op was delayed so I had my second knee surgery last week on Tuesday 4th October (luxating patella). The operation was a lot more problematic than the last knee but I am doing well. I will be having my staples removed in a few days and then we will be preparing for my hip replacement in the new Year.

This photo was taken 5th October when I returned home after a night at the veterinary hospital. I was having some pain and not feeling too happy, hence the sad face, BUT, I am well on the mend now and back to my happy old self and getting into allsorts of mischief as usual. What would they do without me!

5: I have recently found that I have a talent for catching spiders! Mum hates them so I get a treat if I catch one. They're not that tasty so thankfully we don't get many spiders. I'd rather a juicy steak anyday bol!

6: I snore, LOUDLY, and my choppers shake when I do, and I dribble a bit when sleeping OMG, did I just tell you that!

7: I love having my belly rubbed and being massaged by Mum. I love having lotsa kisses too and cwtches.
